Android KitKat

Prepare for a sweet new treat!
I logged in to my facebook account and immediately noticed a post from Kit Kat's page about the latest Android, with a photo of the robot made out of Kit Kat bars. How exciting! So I followed the link and voila! Google just announced that the next Android 4.4 version would be named Kitkat. Yes, Android Kitkat!

I am completely stoked! Kit Kat is my favorite! It is also one of my comfort food. In addition, as an Android fan and user, we've been waiting for the update releases of our fave mobile operating system. We all know that each Android version is named after a sweet dessert: Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, and Jellybean. Every time there's a new version release, we all have been guessing what they'd name it. I thought it was Key Lime Pie like what they have indicated before. Like me, most people are not familiar with key lime pie but it was a surprise move for Google to unveil the Android Kitkat.

The release date of the Android 4.4 version is not revealed yet but Android already dedicated a page on their website for the Android Kitkat. I also learned that some of their employees didn't know the name of the new version until they saw the mascot made out of Kit Kat installed at their headquarters. I found the video of the unveiling of the statue below.

The Android Kitkat partnership is a creative and smart idea that I am sure will boost both of the big companies' (Google and Nestle) sales. It would be big on marketing as they give us a chance to win Nexus 7 tablet and Google Play credit when you buy specially branded Kit Kat featuring the Android robot. Oh well, I think the marketing is already working as I am craving for a bar of Kit Kat now. Gotta look at grocery stores nearby and see if the new packaging is already out. If not, I'd still buy my favorite Kit Kat and have a break! ☺
